Through activities such as COMOM, dental students witness the service and dedication to our profession that CDA dentists demonstrate. The School of Dental Medicine takes great pride in the fact that past CDA presidents serve as community-based mentors as well as full-time members of the faculty.Īs a partner, the CDA generously sponsors the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) dues for DS1 students and an endowed dental student scholarship each year to ensure our students are supported through dental school while being introduced to the value of organized dentistry and its positive impact on dentists throughout their dental careers. The education of these new dentists was strengthened by the school’s strong partnership with the CDA and its member dentists. Those not going directly into practice will either participate in general practice residencies or dental specialty programs, while others in this class have answered the call to serve our country as military dentists. These enthusiastic new dental professionals will practice dentistry in a variety of practice venues in Colorado and beyond. During an outside commencement ceremony under a cloudless Colorado sky, distinguished CU alumna and past president of the CDA, Carrie Mauterer, D.D.S., provided the commencement address to this special class. On May 27, the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine conferred Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees on the Class of 2022.
